Our school participated at the state-level debate competition that took place at the Multi Purpose Hall in Bangsar,on 3rd July 2011 at 9 am.The title of the debate was "Should Cyber Cafe Ban Computer Game?"The school team managed to make it to the finals to    compete with Sekolah Menengah Abu Bakar,Kuala Lumpur.Due to the provocative title, the debated attracted more than 500 students from Selangor. It was intersting to note that even primary students came to listen ]to this immestly interesting debate.the total number of participant was eight
The rival team came very much prpared and had interesting views and points to raise. Our team's position was that computer game must be banned due to its distructive nature
The opponents debated on the platform that computer game are good as form of intertainment and an outlet for release tension. Our team retaliated by pointinghow other kinds of activities such as reading fiction, getting involved in sport and community projects would be far more benificial an inspiriting as well as thought-provoking
Our opponents also raise the issue to revenue for the cyber cafe. They beleived that if students do not patronise these outlet to mainly play computers games, many of them would have to be closed down and it would affects thousand of jobs due to the economic slowdown, this would further bring financial pressures to those affected. However ,reliated by    pointing that cyber cafe must do their bit to install other interesting and aducational progarmme and introduce new ganes that can generate knowledge and broaden one's horizon
There was    a thundering clap from the debate ended and we received a standing ovation. We also learned valueble lesson of team work and the importance of doing researh before presenting hard facts to convince the audience. At te same time we also respected our oppenents who alaso presented good ideas and alternative views.
